My Personal Stack: Tools I Use To Organize Myself
How I Keep It Together (Most of the Time)
Two days ago, while I was in Phoenix for an all-day immersion we organized for a client, a friend asked me how I manage to stay organized while traveling so much. I hadn’t given it much thought before, but his curiosity made me realize that my approach might be worth sharing.
As an entrepreneur, juggling multiple responsibilities is the norm. While I don’t travel as extensively as I used to, I’m still on the road about four months each year. Over time, I’ve developed a system—a “stack”—that helps me stay organized without becoming overly rigid.
Organization can be a double-edged sword. It’s easy to fall into the trap of over-structuring your life, leaving little room for spontaneity. I’ve noticed that people tend to lean towards being either highly structured or more free-flowing. Highly structured people tend to want to over structure themselves with time and free flowing people do the opposite The hack is to strike a balance—having a lightweight system that keeps you organized while allowing flexibility.
Lifestyle & Working Hours
Living in Dubai and working with American clients means my workday doesn’t fit the traditional 9-to-5 mold. In the early days of building my company, I worked seven days a week, with almost no distinction between weekdays and weekends. That approach wasn’t sustainable.
Eventually, I switched it up and began prioritizing health and social life first. I found that when I scheduled fitness and social events, I still got all my work done. But the downside was that it left very little room for true relaxation.
At one point, I became very disciplined about setting strict work hours—working days or nights depending on the need to align with U.S. customers. This structure helped keep my day free from too many meetings, but I realized that too much structure doesn’t work for me either.
